Preparing for your brow

appointment

Preparing for your appointment is equally as important as following aftercare instructions. But before we get into pre-appointment instructions, first read over our list of contraindications and see if you are a candidate for the services we offer.

DAy of your appointment:

  • Make sure you eat something, have consumed no caffeine, and are well rested! Do not exercise the day of your appointment. Also, please remember to bring your state issued ID!

  • If it is something you typically use, you are welcome to come to your appointment with your brow makeup as you typically wear it. This will help us get an idea of what you are used to having your brows look like. Also, feel free to bring any photos of brows you love for reference. Instagram is a great place to find brow inspiration!

  • It is not necessary to shave, or pluck off, any part of your brows before your appointment and we actually prefer it if you leave them with as much natural hair as possible. If you have very little hair that is totally OK though!

24 hours before appointment:

  • Avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin, other blood thinners and vitamin E. Tylenol is OK. This is very important. Not only because it makes it easier for us to work on your brows, but more importantly, is imperative for your best healed results. Excess bleeding = ashier results as well as poorer pigment retention.

* All of these 24 hour prior guidelines also apply to the day of your appointment.

Other considerations

We cannot continue with your procedure if you have a sunburn, eczema, psoriasis, or an active breakout directly in the brow area.

Please note: If you are currently on your menstrual cycle you may experience pain differently than you typically would and may be more sensitive to pain. Although we use topical anesthetics during the procedure, it is possible you may still experience pain to a greater degree due to this. Please schedule accordingly. It is worth noting, however, our clients do not consider the process notably painful.

Failing to follow these instructions will affect your results in many ways. If you consume caffeine or take blood thinners during the time frame stated above, it becomes more difficult to implant pigment into your skin due to extra blood and lymphatic fluid being released by the skin during the procedure. This can greatly affect your healed results, resulting in more fading and potentially patchy and ashy pigment retention. if you do not follow all pre-appointment instructions your skin may not be in a state conducive to receiving a cosmetic tattoo.

Please be mindful of following pre-appointment protocols for the best possible results.
